Earth Hour – People doing their part or are they?

Just a few days ago.
we went through Earth Hour.
and it was quite amazing to see the difference from a normal night in the city
Today.
I was really shocked when i looked out of the balcony
and saw the amount of lights switched on in the building opposite to where we live!

O.M.G???
what a difference yes?
it’s quite ridiculous.
cause it’s switched on like this almost every night.

they need to realise how much electricity they are wasting.
pfft!

a sniff of back home

we had half a duck sitting in our freezer for the longest time
and just though of making something that we really miss with it.
and the thing that came up in our minds was..

and it wasn’t difficult to make at all! (: hehe

Ingredients :

Duck ( chopped up into pieces)
Bamboo shoots (1 can)
3 tablespoons of oyster sauce
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
1 tablespoon of chinese wine
2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon of light soy sauce
1 big chunk of ginger (sliced thinly)
2 small onions / shallots
1 teaspoon of fermented black bean
1 teaspoon of fermented yellow beans
3 heaps tablespoons of chilli paste

Methods :

1. Fry the ginger and onion till brown, add the duck and fry skin down first.
2. In a bowl, mix the sauces together and pour it into the pot. Add in the chilli paste and stir well.
3. Mix the sauce through and well. Add 4 tablespoons of water. Let it simmer for about 1/2 hour.
4. Add in the bamboo shoots and let it simmer for another 20-25mins.
5. Serve with rice.

it tasted great! though i didn’t have the fermented beans.
the taste wasn’t very different from my mummy’s. hehe
so im happy. and my tummy is also very happy (:

Cupcake pops/bites – The Challenge

Been wanting to do this for a while already
but only got down to doing it today
after seeing the challenge post! hehe
and im glad i did.
It’s a bit time consuming
but the satisfaction after it’s done. is AWESOME! hehe (:
i love it!
i love how it looks.
though mine is not as nice as the original made by Bakerella. hehe
but I still love how it turned out.
and I’m really happy now. hehe

I couldn’t get hold of any pink melts.
so i settled for white chocolate melts. hehe.
and i think they still look pretty (:
considering that it’s my first time! hehe

i made like almost 60 of these pops! hehe
the flavour is chocolate inside.
and it’s SO moist! hehe
and yes. it’s sweet.
but it’s good! hehe (:

things to do this weekend : Checklist

Well. I know. this weekend.
will be filled with studying and readings.
for the up and coming essays and tests.
but this weekend. I would like to make my days a bit more exciting than that.

Morning 830am : Stephie’s Graduation

Evening 830pm : Earth Hour

Well. This is our first year participating in this event.
I would definitely think it’s for a great cause.
and what’s better than watching a movie in the dark for that one hour
or even having a candle-light dinner ?
All i can see is it’s going to be an awesome hour.
plus. saving the Earth. WOOHOO! (: haha
(normally, i don’t get too enthusiastic about such things,
but I am influenced by my dearest brother)

Morning 1030am : Cupcake Pops challenge!

I have been meaning to do these lovely looking delicious cute little pops for ages!
and I saw this post by iheatcuppycakes and I just couldn’t say no! (:
so count me in! I accept the challenge. hehe
I just hope they will turn out as pretty as the ones in the picture!

First time lucky : Recipes !

 

Did a few things that was my first try today.
just felt like doing something new (:
and i did.

been looking and reading blogs.
both cooking and baking ones.
and found quite a number of things i wanna make and bake!
just gets my stress or like emotions away.
away from myself.
which is good. and therapeutic (:

SO! hehe
today i made this dish for dinner called
Three Emporer Egg. haha.
sounds profound. but it’s super easy! hehe
and it has everything my baby likes.
so i thought of giving it a try.

sunday morning – breakie morning

i had a huge craving for pancakes
and asked baby if he was ok to go to Pancake Parlour for breakfast
I don’t really care what others say about this place
cause I like how the pancakes taste
and it was really AWESOME.
really.

with free flow of coffee.
just perfect. (:

baby had the country breakfast
with the yummy garlic mushrooms, bacon eggs and tomatoes

i jus had the bacon and eggs (:

and i left the place a very happy and full girl. (:
and did i say i was happy?
yes. i was. hehe

Tuesday is half price Bluefire Day!

Steph and her family are all back in Melbourne
cause my dear Stephie is graduating this Sat! (:
CONGRATULATIONS!!! hehe

we met for dinner on Tuesday night.
and since it was Tuesday
the only place I could think of to bring them was Bluefire
cause of their half price deal!
and boy did we eat HEAPS. haha.
Thank you so much uncle and aunty for this really superbly yummy dinner. (:

for my lunar birthdays (:

and today. i had two! hehe
cos in the lunar calender.
i turn 24! haha.

a message from Yiang! (:
saying that she saw Love Story’s MTV
and thought of me

Really do miss hanging out with her and Jas.
our YJL day this year will be spent apart.
but we can SKYPE! (:
