Wild Rocket

18 Jul

I have always wanted to have a meal at Wild Rocket
and thanks to Steph and Aunty Pak Lan
I had a chance to have it today! *grins*
I loved the fact that it was a small and cosy place
and the food portions for the set lunch is just nice, for me at least.
probably won’t be enough for Baby hehe

every table had this cute round flower.
very pretty (:

So the three course lunch includes :

Appetizers (Choose 1)
Pan-seared Tuna Wild Rocket Salad
Soup of the Day
Grilled Eggplant Spinach with miso sauce

Main (Choose 1)
Wild Rocket Burger with sun-dried tomato relish
Beer-battered Catfish with curry mayonnaise
Linguini Aglio Olio with tiger prawn

Dessert (Choose 1)
Vanilla ice cream with black sesame sauce
Coconut ice cream with gula melaka
herd or fruit Granita of the day

to be honest. I don’t know if the set would change
but I would say even if they don’t
the food on this menu
is awesome! (:

extra virgin olive oil to go with freshly baked bread!

the bread had a cake-like structure.
Everyone liked it buy my brother. haha
he prefer the roll of bread kind (:
but this is really quite good with the olive oil!

for appetizers.
4 of us had the tuna salad
and everything was done to perfection
the tuna was nice and cooked just right
with the sweet grapefruit (the first time I had that is sweet!)
with the peppery rocket.
the combination. AWESOME. really. (:

kor had the soup of the day – pumpkin soup
it’s something which he is attracted to.
whenever there is pumpkin soup
he would order it!
this was sweet, but he said he preferred the one we had at Tao’s (click to see the pumpkin soup at Tao’s)
but it was still good none-the-less.
just a little sweeter than he would like it! hehe

out of 5 of us
4 of us had the pasta (: hhe
it was good! hehe i loved it.
the pasta was a bit under-cooked which was the only problem
but it was tasty and the prawns were nice and sweet!

kor had the burger with tomato relish
which he was quite hesitant to order
cause of the experience we had at Relish (which is open by the same company)
but this is alot better! (:
the patty had alot more taste
and the relish tasted like onion jam (the ones me and baby had in Melbourne)
everything complimented each other. so it was good!

the burger came with a pamperdam and salad
you should see how happy my brother was when he saw the pamperdam
he loves it! haha

and to compare with Relish :

it also had the tomato relish
but the burger wasn’t as good as the one at Wild Rocket
in our opinion (: yours may differ!

and all of us ordered the vanilla ice cream with black sesame sauce
and I personally LOVED IT! hehe
I’m a sucker for black sesame really. so I may be biased
but the combination was really good
though it was a tad bit too sweet
but I’ve got a sweet tooth. hehe
so I loved it!

hehe steph couldn’t smile cause of the black sesame seeds
that may be stuck in between her teeth
sorry stephie! (:

what was cute was the milk bottle! hehe
there was froth some more!
so amazing hehe

Thank you Aunty Pak Lan for the superb lunch (:
I would definitely go back again!

18 Jul
It’s been fabulous having Baby back for his winter break
but it’s even better that he is back and with me on this special day (:

We had a two part celebration! hehe
and while it may seem like nothing to some.
every year, month and day means alot to us.
So..
Happy Anniversary to my sweetest boy
Really glad you’re back! *smiles*

So yes. the celebration started the day before. haha
we caught Hellboy 2 at Marina Square
and it was so funny!
a good film to catch! hehe
but before the show
we had time
and we wanted chocolate! hehe
so off we went to Gloria Jeans and ordered hot tea and…

how rich does this look right? haha (:
awesome!

We had dinner at Yotei after the show

I must say the food is alright (:
Nothing that fantastic.
But still not a bad place to try. hehe

the food we had :

my fav of the night (:

salmon belly sushi. yummers

tuna tataki. not as good as i thought it would be to be honest.

Garlic fried rice which was really good!

The celebrations continue!
Round 2 :  Baby cooks for me and his family

and guess what’s on the menu?

Wagyu of course! hehe

how good does the marbling look? haha

and when it’s resting. doesn’t it look awesome?
I bet you want to have one now! haha
it’s juicy and everything you can ever imagine!
cooked to perfection with all his love (:

with baked mini potatoes!

with baked portabello mushrooms!
full of flavour!

salad with shitake mushrooms and grilled capsicums.

well. all i can say is.
I’m the luckiest girl in the world
for having a chef in my life (:

I love you (:
