A Night of Desserts – sinful!

30 Jul
I love the spontaniety of my daddy (:
After watching this television program that introduced places to eat around Clementi
He took his car keys and said
“Let’s go have ice cream!”

it’s really been a long time since we just went out for desserts
and I must say we picked the right place!

i love the simplicity of the decorations in the shop.
the lights ; everything
and the ambiance was super nice too. at night.
as the place had a open bar just  beside it.
we had free music! haha

So I did the ordering haha.
cos Im such a dessert girl. (not very good for my waist!)

and this was what we had that night

warm chocolate pudding with Vanilla ice cream and vanilla sauce

SO good i tell you. they used the top notch chocolate
like 66% coca or more.
the richness of the chocolate.
really super awesome. (:
it was warm and gooey on the inside.
together with the cold vanilla ice cream.
 a perfect match.
divine. just divine

On the television program
we were attracted to their home made sorbets
they had a dish that had 7 different flavours of sorbets!
but we decided to choose the trio one.

(from the left) Mango, Lychee and Strawberry

I would recommend the mango and strawberry.
but the lychee did taste a bit artificially flavoured.
so I will go for other flavours!
of course if u had more people.
you should try the 7 scoops one. haha
it would be interesting! hehe

Though we only had desserts
they are also known for their German pork knuckle
which we would be trying soon! hehe
but have to pre order!
cause they only make 10 a day. hehe
So look forward to seeing the post on the pork knuckle, German food fans! (:

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 cups of Coffee

27 Jul
When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours
in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of
coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large
and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the
jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between
the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the
jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty
space between the sand. The students laughed.

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the
important things–your family, your children, your health, your friends
and your favourite passions—and if everything else was lost and only
they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house
and your car.

The sand is everything else—the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no
room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you
spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have
room for the things that are important to you.

‘Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be
time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf
balls! first—the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The
rest is just sand.’

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented. The professor smiled. ‘I’m glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

From Hong Kong to Taiwan!

27 Jul
No I didn’t go on a holiday again. haha
But I did get to try the food from both countries!
But all at one place
It was a whole day of eating again
Cause Baby was heading back to Melbourne tmr.

so off we went to… Bugis Junction!

Our first stop was the Hong Kong Cafe for lunch

we had so much food i tell you. haha
and it as ALL meat dishes!

Melissa’s fried noodles with slice pork

My slice beef horfun (:

the amount of meat that they gave us
was like almost unlimited! haha
and the portion size was huge and the price was not too bad (:

Baby’s dumpling noodles
the soup was gooood! hehe

we also ordered sides

fish met dumping with chilli oil and black sauce
(amlost like the one we had in Taiwan actually!)

fried chee chong fun with egg and mince pork
this was something special
and tasted really good!
But I must say
it’s something we can try cooking on our own
cause it was quite a simple dish. (:
A little oily though. hehe but still good!

and who could go to “Hong Kong” and not have a nice cuppa Yuan Yang? hehe

so after a FULL meal
we headed down to the Taiwan food fair also at Bugis!

there was SOOOOO many people!
like 5854506508935780957! haha

see for yourself!!! hehe

the only thing that baby and his family were interested
was the smelly toufu! hehe
so Baby made Melissa queue for them.

it looks EXACTLY like those in Taiwan! haha
but not as smelly le!
although i still pinched my nose when I walked past the stall. haha

see how happy my boy is? haha
it’s like his favourite!

Melissa trying the smelly toufu hehe

after all the food we went for FISH SPA! hehe
for the first time (for me and baby)
it was really quite fun and a little ticklish!

once bitten twice shine! hahaha. i couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the sign

We were led to the toilet to rinse our leg.
before heading to the fish pool haha

the fishes were bigger than i thought they would be!
but less ticklish than I expected. hehe

baby kept laughing. cause he couldn’t take the itch! hehe
so funny la he. (:

I could understand cause he had soooo many fishes sucking his skin!

I also had quite a bit. haha
PLUS i had a SUCKER FISH sucking my skin for some reason as well
that freaked me out! haha

Melissa like no kick cause she’s done it a few times already! hehe
the shop person actually recognised her. haha

ALL our feet! *grins*

was quite a cool experience. hehe
Baby is intending to buy the fishes himself haha
and do it at home! so funny!

After a nice relaxing and ticklish time
we headed down to town
hoping to catch The Dark Knight
but everywhere was full
and we needed to meet Baby’s parents for dinner
so we decided to go for snack instead
(sticking to baby’s 2 hourly schedule)

So we headed to Cedele for tea!
I love the food at Cedele. (:
of cos the company just made it better. hehe

we chose to have the mushroom and beef salad
and each have a pot of tea (:

the salad was sooo good! (: hehe
and huge. lucky we shared.

I tried their longan goji and red date tea. hehe
it was nicer and towards the end cause it was sweeter!

It was a good day overall (:
really not looking forward to Baby leaving
but I have to stay strong
and look forward to Nov.
I can do it! hehe
But I know I will definitely miss him. I already do. Even before he leaves.

hehe we did enjoy ourselves this holiday though (:
So glad u came back! hehe
I love you!

Drawing a conclusion

26 Jul
today while walking with baby in town
we both agreed on this conclusion :

“If you don’t have it, definitely don’t flaunt it.
If you think you have it, you shouldn’t flaunt it.
If you have it, sometimes you shouldn’t flaunt it as well.”

hahaha. oops. well.
in most circumstances.
it really does apply!

Update : Job

26 Jul
4 Aug! (:
that’s the date I start my new job at an assistant teacher at St. Gerard’s pre-school
I must say I am pretty excited about this job!
cause it is something I might be doing in my future
helping all the special needs children
and starting from pre-school is a pretty amazing feeling
and Im saying these without even starting my job yet! hehe
I see this as a good sign!

so I’ve got a week before I start work.
I’ve got 2 orders due on the 1 Aug (:
I’ve got time to do what I want to do before I begin! hehe

The only thing I’m not looking forward to is tmr night.
but since I’m working
and Baby is going to be studying
I pray this 3 months will pass really soon!
Cause off I go to Melbourne and Auckland in November!
